I'm sickness
I am a disease.
It's not me,
I'm not the illness,
but it's eating me.
I fight as hard as I can
and I get exhausted,
it's a beast without face,
it's a fear with no name.
It makes me look like a monster,
it makes me lose my mind,
it makes me think
the whole world is against me,
they have a scheme
to destroy me.
Sometimes I know
it's not real
but too often
I cannot tell
what's real
and what's caused
by that awful thing
d e p r e s s i o n.
I have a name
I have a face
I have a heart
I'm a human,
I'd like to be treated
like one of them,
like anyone.
But there's this thing
that keeps me in prison
inside myself
and makes me think
they're all against me
they want to destroy me.
Sometimes I don't know
which are my own thoughts
and which are nasty words
of that monster inside me
or am I inside it?
D e p r e s s i o n.
I'm fighting it.
It cannot win.
I want you to see me.
I want you to understand
that's not me.
I want you to try
and see me
through this thing.

Literature
Ever-Change
Seasons come and go so fast and leave their mark in turn
From the freezing cold of Winter to the heat of the Summer's burn
To the beauty of a scented Spring to the color of Autumn's Fall
All Nature's beauty rising to the lull of a bird's sweet call
Winter is:
Shadows falling from the sky deftly covering the ground below
Clouds so black and rain as ice to fall as sleeting snow
The howling wind so full of rage, a tempest to behold
Has man and beast to cower in fear and shelter from this cold
Spring is:
Flowers opening up their buds to see the sun's warm ray
new-born babies frolicking in the glow of nature's day

Days
There were days when I got lost behind the moons eyes, the suns smiles, and the clouds tears.
Days where the wind crept up from behind and whipped my hair around my neck suffocating me.
There were days when I got lost within the days light and the nights dark.
The stars were painted black like my heart disappearing, blending into nothingness.
There were days I drowned in the waters depths, and lived inside concrete walls.
Meshing together light and dark; becoming one.
There were days my body was weak from fighting, my mind strong from cartwheel thoughts racing.
My mind running a marathon as my body
Literature
I Hear...
At night I hear the trees cry,
The pretty flowers dying
A beautiful tragedy.
At night I hear the birds sleep,
The stars speaking
To my lonely heart.
When sleep finally passes
Night morphs into day
And I can hear the sun screaming.
The stars dissipate, the trees dance,
Birds awake from slumber,
And the flowers come alive.
